Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I found the general ingredients, but I'm
looking for the complete ingredient list.
A:The list of ingredients on our website IS the complete list! There are no fillers, additives,
supplements, etc.
Pingford Original is comprised of chicken (with bones), turkey (with bones), beef liver, beef suet and whole eggs.
Pingford Red is comprised of beef tongue, buffalo, elk, beef heart, beef suet, beef liver.
We've had ferrets for about 9 years. We made this product because we wanted an easy to use true meat food for our own
ferrets. What you see is what you get!
Q: My ferret likes a smooth textured Porridge.
How do you serve your ferrets their Porridge?
A: My five ferrets eat nicely for 3-4 days using this procedure: For a smoother
texture I put 1 cup Porridge and 1.5 cups boiling water in a bowl. Put a
lid on it and set aside for about 30 minutes...give it a little shake every now and then. Put it in a blender and
blend on high for a minute or two. Store in the fridge and that's it. Whenever you're ready to serve your ferrets,
just nuke it until it's warm, stir and serve.I do this at night right before dinner then I can just clean the blender
when I'm doing the dinner dishes.
Q: Can I feed Pingford's Porridge dry?
A: Yes! Set aside a small bowl of kibble and mix in 1-2 tablespoons Pingford's
Porridge. Most ferrets get used to this quite quickly. We recommend discarding any unused dry Porridge in about 3
days.
Q: I can make my own soup. Why would I buy
yours?
A: We've had our product repeatedly tested for nutritional content. We also tested the nutritional
content of many popular home-made soup recipes. The fat and protein content in those recipes was very low. Use
Pingford's Porridge on it's own or use it to give your own soup a boost of fat and protein.
Q: My ferret is hesitant to eat Pingford's
Porridge. What do I do?
A: Some ferrets are finicky about textures and temperatures. Try mixing your Porridge in a blender for
a smoother texture and be sure to try feeding it warmed. Be sure to read our Feeding Tips for more information.
