Pingford’s Porridge was created specifically for the domesticated ferret’s need for a high-fat, high-protein, low fiber food. Ferrets are carnivores; they require animal based proteins and fats for energy and balanced overall nutrition. We use human-grade chicken (w/bones), turkey (w/bones), elk, bison, beef (including heart, liver, tongue and suet) and eggs (cooked and whole) to ensure your ferret is getting the very best in quality and nutrition. All our ingredients are HUMAN GRADE and super fresh.

Ferrets do not digest fiber well. Too much fiber in a ferret’s diet will promote quickly occurring digestion, limiting the ferret’s ability to absorb nutrients from foods. The fiber in Pingford’s Porridge comes from naturally occurring fiber in its ingredients.

Sugar and high carbohydrates (those from fruits, vegetables and some commercial supplements) have virtually no nutritional benefits for ferrets and may be associated with life-threatening illnesses and digestive problems. Additionally, while dairy may be an enjoyed ferret treat, the ferret’s digestive processes do not tolerate dairy well and may result in litter box issues and upset ferret bellies. Our recipe contains no added sugars, commercial supplements, preservatives or dairy products.
