11 years of "ferreting" about...
It seems like just yesterday that a good friend of mine asked me if I'd be interested in giving her two albino ferret girls a place in my home. I was Active Duty US Army at the time, but I had room in my modest off-Post apartment and being a life-long animal lover, I said "YES!". The two little ones quickly stole my heart (a bit of my soul, and my car keys, too). They climbed the curtains, dug up my plants and pooped at will under my bed and inside my couch. But I was in BIG LOVE so I set out to learn all I could about these special creatures. Training came relatlively easy and they set into a happy routine in my home and heart. Learning about diet was a bigger challenge than I'd expected. So I dug into books and web pages and bugged shelter moms and dads all across the U.S. Before long I was incorporating real meats and quality kibbles into their diets and they absolutely thrived.
As time went on, I got involved in sheltering and fostering and dedicated most of my free time to ferrets in need. Finding time to make quality soup for so many ferrets, on top of my regular job, was very, very difficult. Pingford's Porridge was born out of a desire to offer balanced nutrition and convenience for my own ferret family as well as for those of other ferret lovers.
