"Kits from the Ohio Ferret Rescue enjoying Pingford's Porridge"

From: Lesley Colton July 07, 2008

I am placing my second order for Pingfords Red. My guys, Loki and BART! really love it. They have a very active lifestyle and frequently go on backpacking trips with us. At home they are free feeders on a dry kibble diet with supplemental fresh gravy. On the trail, they don't have continuous access to kibble, so it is important that they have a high protein that they will consume immediately when fed. It has been difficult to transport fresh, liquid gravy in a backpack due to mess and potential spoilage. Pingfords solves this problem. Once we make camp, Pingfords is reconstituted using the campstove and is ready for immediate consumption. I can be sure of the exact amount they are eating (in addition to the dry kibble given). On trips they enjoy Pingfords in the morning and evening. (they have access to dry kibble in the evening at camp, then ALL food, people and ferret, is hung in a tree at night for safety).

I have attached a picture from this past weekend's trip: Loki and BART! after Pingfords, Pisgah National Forest, North Carolina.

        Thanks!
        Lesley, Brad, Loki and BART!

Here are the pictures of the little ones enjoying your wonderful Pingford's Porridge. :)

I couldn't for the life of me get Diesel to wake up for the photo shoot but here are the other four enjoying their porridge. In the photo with the three fuzzies, left to right is Ranger, Pilot, and Tank. And in the photo with the two babies, it's Sailor on the left and Pilot on the right (I tried to feed Sailor separately but Pilot got some of both rounds LOL)

My guys weren't thrilled at first but we all know how ferrets are with new foods so I just added some to their soup till they got used to it, now they love it and I imagine a lot of ferrets need to be gradually introduced to new things, they cant make it easy on us now can they?
Now all my ferrets agree, Pingford's Porridge is a fine ferret food!

        Renee, Dakota & Dancer

I got my bag of Pingford's Porridge and the kids love it!! It was a hit here, especially with my boy Dancer, he goes crazy over it, its one of his new favorite things, he thinks its so good its like a treat to him, he even trys to eat it straight from the bag dry and all! My little Dakota 1st wasn't sure about it, as she can be a picky eater but she took to it right away with a little push and begs momma for extra helpings. The best part about it, is the porridge is also good for them too. Thanks Again, we will definitely be buying more porridge in the near future!

        Cappy is the short-tailed white
        Max is the darkie
        Clark is the big sable
Sho-Sho is the tiny sable girl,
        and the silver is Chloe

We have tried Pingford's Porridge at our place, and it has gotten two thumbs up from Taz and Grizzly. I've given them baby mice and rats before, which totally disappear, so I figured they would not have any problems with this product, which is made from poultry (and Taz is one of those ferrets that will eat anything anyway). I was glad to see the manufacturer updated their webpage with the ingredients, and that they mentioned they include the poultry bone in their recipe.

I would think it would make a very good invalid food for ferrets.
Here's it's more a daily treat. Yum yum!

        I'm Colleen from Montana

and have received a package of Pingfords' Porridge for my three ferrets. All three have taken to it with no problems! They clean their plates every-time! I look forward to making it a regular feeding in my household! Now all I have to do is say, "Where's the Babies?!!" and they come running!!!
Thank you for this wonderful porridge!

        From Jenny

Ody and Fletcher Bean LOVE porridge time. I have seen a huge difference in their activity level as well as their shiny coats. I love knowing that my little weasel friends are receiving excellent nutrition from Pingford's Porridge!

        From Samantha

Everything is great, the porridge is great. Mental has put on weight and looks so much better. His energy level is up and he is much more interactive. I am so thankful for your help. I think I was just killing him slowly before, because I just didn't know as much as I do now about his diet. I am so glad for finding this website and you. I believe I have prolonged Mental's life and he seems so much happier and playful again.

Well I must say a good diet makes all the difference in the world. Mental is much more energetic and a lot more bounce like when he was younger. His big personality is back and he just seems so much happier, he is even back to chasing my boyfriend around.
