About Us
| I’ve always been an animal lover, though I’d mostly been kept by cats, dogs and
parakeets. About 9 years ago, I adopted 2 female albino ferrets that were in desperate need of a new home.
Luna was flat blind, though full of vim and vigor, and Rumpstein was spry and always ready for hugs and
kisses. But they were malnourished and I had absolutely no idea what to feed my new girls. I was in an
area of the country where there weren’t many resources for ferret education. I scoured the internet,
called shelters all over the country, read books and badgered several ferret veterinarians in several
different states until I had a better idea of what a ferret would and should eat. I figured out rather quickly that the cat food my girls had been raised on wasn’t good for them! So I began by feeding high-quality kibble and adding small amounts of meat baby food as my girls would accept it. But baby food didn’t have the fat and protein content I felt my girls needed. So I began mixing recipes in my kitchen until I found a nutrient-rich porridge that my girls simply couldn’t (and wouldn’t!) live without. So began my ferrets' love-affair with Pingford’s Porridge. Every ferret that’s entered our lives since has been fed Pingford’s Porridge and high-quality kibble. We’re very excited that we’re now able to offer Pingford’s Porridge for the benefit of ferrets everywhere.

| We just got back from the Inland Northwest Ferret Show in Couer d'Alene, Idaho on Feb. 2nd,
2008 a couple of hours ago. I'm exhausted! This was our very first ferret show!!! Soda Pop won 1st place in the Albino
Class, 2nd place in the Companion Ferret Class and he won some 2nd place and 4th and 5th places, too. He was a real
star!!!
